Surge Protector Special Protection Device

Surge Protector Special Protection Device: ZSEE SCB Series (SPD Disconnector) is a new product developed to provide a backup protection solution for surge protection devices (SPDs) such as the ZSEEU series. This product addresses the issue of short circuits caused by SPD degradation or abnormal overvoltage in the distribution line by promptly disconnecting the conduction circuit when the SPD conducts, preventing SPD fires. The ZSEESCB product avoids the problem faced by traditional protective components, where the instantaneous energy of lightning currents cannot be sustained during a lightning strike, leading to device rupture and tripping, causing loss of lightning protection and damage to equipment. It ensures long-term effective lightning protection.

Application

ZSEESCB is suitable for distribution boxes and cabinets in TT and TN distribution systems with an AC frequency of 50/60Hz and a rated voltage of 400V/230V. The product can be used with T1, T2, and T3 SPD types to protect the distribution system from lightning and abnormal overvoltage issues.

Altitude not exceeding 2000m, relative humidity <95% (below 25°C), ambient air temperature -40°C to +75°C. Note: If the operating environment does not meet the above conditions, the manufacturer should be informed.

Product Features

  1. The ZSEESCB has a maximum surge withstand capacity of up to 50kA for 10/350μs waveforms and up to 160kA for 8/20μs waveforms.
  2. ZSEESCB has a wider range of power frequency overcurrent protection, with excellent performance in high short-circuit breaking and low short-circuit instantaneous operation, protecting SPDs from TOV (Temporary Overvoltage caused by power frequency).
  3. ZSEESCB can interrupt high short-circuit currents up to 100kA and can interrupt low short-circuit currents above 3A in an extremely short time.
  4. The residual voltage across ZSEESCB during a surge event is lower, and the effective voltage protection level Up of the corresponding SPD branch is lower, thus providing better protection for the equipment.
  5. ZSEESCB works perfectly with SPD, and the combined solution has been thoroughly tested and validated.
